At Minster Equine Veterinary Clinic we encourage final year veterinary students to spend a couple of weeks with us. You will primarily spend time in the hospital under the supervision of the interns where you will see a large throughput of a varied caseload.
There will be the opportunity to:
- Observe surgery and anaesthesia in theatre
- Watch and assist with diagnostic lameness investigations
- Spend time with the ambulatory vets at studs, racing yards, sports horse as well as doing more general ambulatory work
Places are limited so early applications are encouraged, so please complete the form opposite to contact Matthew Swarbrick BVSc MRCVS.
A more specific Externship programme is available to a few select candidates. This will give successful candidates the opportunity to spend a more focused time period, usually one month, with our team. Externs will primarily be at the hospital but will spend time out on the road with our racing, stud and sports horse teams. Off-site accommodation may be available at our Companion Animal sites.
